On The Hunt For IPv6-Enabled Consumer Devices at CES This Week

IPv6 your products obsolete 300Will we find consumer devices at CES that work with IPv6?

That is the key question on the mind of our Deploy360 team as we head to the massive International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. We will be meeting with vendors who want to learn more about supporting IPv6, and, as previously mentioned, will be presenting as part of a workshop on IPv6 on Saturday… but we’ll also be walking the show floor to see what level of IPv6 support – or not – we can find.

IF YOU ARE AT CES AND YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICE SUPPORTS IPv6, please send us an email at as we’d like to make sure we stop by your booth.

When we find vendors whose devices or software support IPv6, I’ll be ready to record video interviews, take photos and write about the devices/software/services.

I’ll be very curious to see what we find. I’ll also be curious to see what level of IPv6 literacy there is among the CES exhibitor booth staff. If the products do not support IPv6, will we at least find people at vendor booths who know what IPv6 is and can even perhaps talk about potential support?

Or will we find people giving us the old “deer-caught-in-the-headlights-look-because-no-one-ever-asked-me-about-IPv6-before-and-I-have-no-idea-what-to-say“?

Which do you think we’ll receive?

P.S. To stay up on what we’re finding at CES, best bet will probably be to follow us on Twitter. We’ll also be updating this blog, our Facebook page and our Google+ page, but odds are that Twitter will be the most immediately updated.
