One Month to IPv6, DNSSEC, and More at ION Malta

We’re just one month away from ION Malta, to be held Monday, 18 September, and followed by an ICANN DNSSEC Training Workshop on Tuesday, 19 September. Both events will be hosted by Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) at their Data Centre. As usual, this ION also has generous support from our ION Conference Series Sponsor Afilias.

We’ll have a full-day program and cover our favorite topics including IPv6, DNSSEC, Collaborative Security and MANRS, and the IETF. Here’s a quick look at the agenda:

  • Introduction to the Internet Society Malta Chapter
    Jasper Schellekens, President
  • IPv6 Deployment in Malta vs The World
  • An IPv6 Case Study: Finland
Klaus Nieminen, Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA)
  • Panel Discussion: MANRS, Routing Security, and Collaboration
    Moderator: Kevin Meynell, Internet Society
  • Introduction to DNSSEC and Why We Need It
    Richard Lamb, ICANN
  • What’s Happening at the IETF? Internet Standards and How to Get Involved
    Kevin Meynell, Internet Society
  • IANA & the Root Zone KSK Rollover
    Adam Peake, ICANN
  • DANE: The Future of Transport Layer Security (TLS)
    Richard Lamb, ICANN
  • MITA Data Center Tour
  • Panel Discussion: IPv6 Success Stories
    Moderator: Clara Scerri Delia, MCA
    Panelists: Bernard Mallia, Klaus Nieminen

Registration is now open. We’re also hoping to live stream the ION, so even if you can’t be there in person you’ll be able to follow along online. (Stay tuned for more information on that as we get closer.)

Will you be in Malta or watching online? Please speak up in the comments below or via our social media channels.

We’re hard at work on ION Durban (South Africa) on 7 September, this Malta event, and we’ll be wrapping up the year of IONs with ION Belgrade (Serbia) on 23 November. Contact us to discuss how your company could sponsor an ION Conference.

We hope to see you in Malta, or at another event!
